The band consists of seasoned musicians who put on a show that is often imitated, but rarely duplicated by other groups. Platinum Soul performs at private functions, nightclubs, festivals, and local restaurants in the Seattle – Tacoma area and throughout the Northwest. Whenever Platinum Soul takes the stage, there is never any question as to where the party is!

Sidney Weldele-Wallace - Lead and Background Vocals

 

After performing for decades as one of the premier entertainers throughout the Pacific Northwest, seasoned vocalist Sidney Weldele-Wallace returns to the stage with Platinum Soul. Sidney’s distinctive, powerful vocals deliver a stylistic approach to multiple genres of music including rock, pop, jazz, and R&B. Sidney is an exciting and engaging performer. Her experience, energy, and professionalism create an instant rapport with every audience.

 

 

 

 

Keith Carter - Saxophones

 

    

An accomplished saxophonist and vocalist, Keith started playing at the age of ten. He began his pro career in high school, playing in Tacoma-area jazz and funk bands. During a tour of duty in the Air Force, Keith performed in talent shows in the US and Asia, winning several awards. An exciting soloist, Keith has performed with the groups Midnite Walk, Soul Passport, and the Carter Brothers.

Kevin England - Trumpet, FlugelHorn, Horn Arrangements

 

 

 

Kevin England is a trumpet artist who has enriched the lives of many over the years. Kevin has had the opportunity to perform and share the stage with notable acts and artists such as; Tony Bennett, Diane Schurr, The Four Tops, Greg Adams, and Paul Brown to name a few.
Kevin's chief influence and musical mentor is the famous jazz Trumpet Artist Bobby Shew.
Kevin toured the country with a small circus band in the 1980's that was based in Florida. He has remained active playing locally in a wide range of musical styles and settings which include Blues, R&B, Big band and small group jazz.
Kevin, a cancer survivor which he considers said survival and all of life a miraculous gift from God, hopes to continue to touch and brighten peoples lives with music in celebration of God's beautiful creation.

Ray Lewis - Lead Vocals and Keyboards

   

An accomplished lead vocalist and front man, Ray has been entertaining audiences throughout the Northwest for quite some time. Originally from New Orleans and as a young man, Ray was mentored by Aaron and Art Neville. Ray brings a style to the stage that makes you feel like he's entertaining you in his living room, engaging and inviting.

Ray has excited audiences from Las Vegas to Reno, to the Pacific Northwest and Canada, opening for groups such as: Cameo, Midnight Star, Rose Royce, and ConFunkShun. He has performed with well-known groups like Bump Kitchen, Society's Child, Readymade Family, and now Platinum Soul. When Ray hits the stage, you know you're in for a treat.

 

Michael Stubblefield - Bass and Vocals

 

Michael Stubblefield aka Stubbs the Bass Player

Michael was born in Tacoma, Washington, and started his musical journey on the accordion at eight years old. He didn't know he wanted to be a musician until he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show when he was ten. Soon, he switched to the bass guitar and studied intently. It wasn't long before he knew that he had found his instrument. While Michael is known all over for his smooth, tight, and funky bass playing, he is also a very soulful vocalist with a killer falsetto.

Michael has toured extensively and has performed in such places such as Las Vegas, Hawaii, the Grand Cayman Islands, and all over the Pacific Northwest. He has performed and recorded with: The Jonah’s Whale Band, The Randy Oxford Band, Nicole Fournier and many other great musicians.

He believes an incredible groove actually suspends time, and we don't even age in those moments.

Benny Kee - Drums

    

Benny picked up a pair of drum sticks at age 5 and has been playing professionally since 11. A graduate of Berkeley High in Berkeley, CA, Benny has received numerous awards and accolades over the years including “Best Drummer” at the California Jazz Competition at the Monterey Jazz Festival multiple years running and was invited to tour Japan with the Monterey Jazz Festival All-Star Big Band in 1989.
Benny studied Drum Performance in college at the University of North Texas and has had private lessons with well-known instructors and groove artists such as Zigaboo Modeliste, Ed Soph, Jeff Hamilton, Scott Morris and others.
A solid and versatile drummer, Benny covers a lot of styles with ease. He has performed up and down the west coast with artists such as: Dizzy Gillespie, John Pattitucci, Joshua Redmond, Hook Me Up, Groove Academy, Rich Wetzel’s Groovin’ Higher Orchestra and many others.

 

Butch Carter - Guitar and Vocals

   

A life-long student of music, Butch started his musical journey as a drummer. After picking up the guitar at thirteen, he began to write songs. He soon learned the styles of Wes Montgomery and Carlos Santana. Butch has toured the West Coast and Canada with show bands performing funk, jazz and Top 40. Locally, he has performed with Soul'd Out, the Old School Fellas, and Soul Passport.
